LG appliances are sophisticated but have well-documented failure patterns that our Edmonton technicians see regularly:

OE — Drain Error (Washers & Dishwashers): The pump cannot drain within the expected cycle time. In washers, this is often a blocked pump filter clogged with lint, coins, or debris. In dishwashers, a kinked drain hose or blocked sump is typical.

IE — Water Inlet Error (Washers): Water is not entering the drum fast enough. Edmonton's water pressure can vary, especially in older neighborhoods — but a faulty inlet valve is the most common culprit.

UE/UB — Unbalanced Load (Washers): LG top-loaders redistribute the load automatically; persistent UE codes often indicate a worn suspension rod or a damaged rotor position sensor.

LE — Locked Motor Error (Washers): The Inverter Direct Drive motor has stalled. This can be caused by a foreign object between the drum and tub, a failing motor hall sensor, or an overloaded drum.

dE — Door Lock Error (Front-Load Washers): The door latch is not engaging. In Edmonton winters, thermal contraction can cause the door gasket to stiffen, preventing full closure and triggering dE. A worn door latch assembly is also common.

tE — Temperature Sensor Error (Dryers & Dishwashers): The thermistor reading is outside normal range. This causes the appliance to run cycles incorrectly or stop mid-cycle.

FE — Overflow Error (Washers): The water inlet valve is stuck open or leaking, allowing too much water into the drum. Requires immediate attention to avoid water damage.
