Common GE Dishwasher Problems and Error Codes
GE dishwashers use a distinct error code system that differs from Whirlpool and Bosch:
IE / E2 — Water Inlet Error: The dishwasher is not filling with water within the expected time. Check that the water supply shut-off valve under the sink is fully open. Er — Communication Error: The control board cannot communicate with another board in the dishwasher system. This typically indicates a main board failure or a loose wiring harness connection.
Dish Not Drying Despite Dry Boost: GE Dry Boost uses a dedicated fan to enhance drying performance. When the Dry Boost fan motor fails, dishes come out wet even after a full dry cycle. The Dry Boost fan is a separate component from the main wash motor.
